Pipe Organ System Overview for the
LS5608 and LS2464 Combination Actions

OVERVIEW:

The best way to determine which Syndyne Pipe Organ Combination Action to order is to look at the specifications of the LS5608 system. If the LS5608 will handle current and future needs for your installation, it is the most economical and best choice. For instruments requiring more than the LS5608 specifications, select the LS2464 Combination Action System. Syndyne Combination Action Systems will work with nearly any of the existing keying systems in the world. We even have several systems in tracker organs with mechanical stop actions, driving solenoids that move tracker bars to the chest.

LS5608 SYSTEM:

The LS5608 is designed to control two manual divisions and a pedal division in mid size to smaller instruments. It will control up to 56 stops. The available 56 stops are broken into 20 stops in each of the two manuals and 16 in the pedal. Two of the stops in each manual and four of the pedal stops can be reversibles, for a total of 8 reversibles. The LS5608 has 16 general piston inputs, 8 divisional piston inputs for each of the three divisions, 8 reversible piston inputs, general cancel, set and sforzando pistons for a total of 51 available pistons. There are 32 memory levels available in the LS5608. Several memory controllers are available to control 8, 12, or 32 levels. If a sforzando is needed, an SFZ56, programmable sforzando controller, is designed to be used with the LS5608. To address the various stop controls in the industry negative coil output, positive coil output, momentary lighted stop output, Syndyne lighted stop output and blind stop output versions are available. LS2464 SYSTEM:

The LS2464 combination action system is designed to control all instruments from very small to extremely large. The basic concept of the system is to use one LS2464 board for each division in an organ. If a division has more than 24 stops, a second board can be added to that division. Each LS2464 board will control 24 stops. Six of those stops can be reversibles. There are 32 piston inputs that can be divided between generals and divisional pistons for each division. 128 memory levels are available in the LS2464 system. To control the 128 memory levels several choices of memory controllers for 8, 12, 32, 64, and 128 levels are available. Some memory controllers will allow multiple key locks to protect portions of memory levels. If a sforzando is needed, an SFZ56, programmable sforzando controller (or multiple SFZ56s), can be used with the LS2464 system.
