A Brief History of Syndyne Corporation |
Syndyne Corporation was incorporated in Vancouver, Washington, in 1962 as a research and development company. We began by designing products for a wide variety of customers and marketplaces. Some of those original designs remain alive in projects being manufactured today. Our focus was once wide but has been narrowed so that today we are concentrating on providing high quality, proprietary products to organ builders. As part of our focus we are constantly working on new organ products. From the outset, the importance of our people has been evident, not only in the philosophy of the company, but also in our company name. The name Syndyne comes from the phrase "Synthesis in Physical Dynamics". In everyday terms this phrase means, that by combining our efforts, we will produce a far better outcome than the sum of each of our individual efforts. What makes this philosophy work are the Syndyne employees and their dedication to do their very best to provide our customers with the finest products available. Syndyne has changed ownership four times in the past 35 years but has always stayed within a 10 mile radius. A great blessing is that key employees have continued to work for Syndyne through all the changes brought by new ownerships. Our employees have provided continuity that is evidenced by the consistency of our products. In 1965 one of the development projects that became a manufactured product was our original Solenoid Draw Knob (SDK). This was the first organ stop control to use opposing magnets for the switch detent and a hermetically sealed reed switch for the stop sense contacts. Innovations from the design of our SDK are now part of the majority of stop controls today. The SDK was our first exposure to pipe and electronic organ builders. We have truly enjoyed meeting and supplying hundreds of organ builders over the past three decades. |
